Derrick McKey is a former professional basketball player who had a successful career in the NBA. Born on October 10, 1966, in Meridian, Mississippi, McKey played college basketball at the University of Alabama before being drafted by the Seattle SuperSonics in 1987. Known for his versatility and defensive skills, he played as a forward for the SuperSonics, Indiana Pacers, and Philadelphia 76ers over his 15-year career. McKey won an NBA championship with the SuperSonics in 1976 and was recognized for his contributions on both ends of the court. After retiring from playing, he transitioned into coaching and now works as a basketball analyst.
