Muammar Gaddafi

Muammar Gaddafi was a Libyan revolutionary, politician, and dictator who ruled the country from 1969 until his death in 2011. Born in 1942, Gaddafi led a coup d'état that overthrew King Idris I, establishing himself as the leader of Libya. He implemented various socialist and nationalist policies, earning a reputation for his eccentricity and controversial leadership style. Gaddafi's rule was marked by human rights abuses, international conflicts, and support for terrorist organizations. He was eventually ousted from power during the Arab Spring uprising and was captured and killed by rebel forces in October 2011.
