Jay Dee, also known as J Dilla, was a pioneering American record producer and rapper. Born on February 7, 1974, in Detroit, Michigan, Jay Dee rose to fame as a member of the influential hip-hop group Slum Village. He gained acclaim for his innovative production style, blending soulful samples with intricate drum patterns. Jay Dee collaborated with numerous artists, including A Tribe Called Quest, Common, and The Roots.
