Queen Marie Antoinette

Marie Antoinette was born in 1755 in Austria and married the future King Louis XVI of France at age 14. As Queen of France during the late 18th century, she was criticized for her extravagant lifestyle and perceived indifference to the struggles of the common people. Despite her efforts to help the poor and her passion for arts and fashion, she became a symbol of the monarchy's excesses. During the French Revolution, she and Louis XVI were arrested, tried, and executed by guillotine in 1793. Marie Antoinette's life and tragic end continue to fascinate historians and storytellers alike.
